Does dictation need the internet?

Download a speech model first. After that, dictation runs on your device. Downloads and Google Play installation need a connection.

Do I have to use the editing model?

No. Offline text editing is optional, with a separate model download. Review each suggestion before applying it.

Can I use it in my other apps?

On Android, enable the VType keyboard and select it in your writing app. Review and insert your draft, then send it yourself.
