Voice and text on your device
VType processes dictation audio locally. Dictation audio is held in memory while recording and transcription run; the app does not save audio recordings or upload your audio or text for speech recognition. Microphone access is requested when needed for dictation.
Your note and preferences are stored locally in the app. The keyboard inserts text only when you choose; the destination app then handles that text under its own policies. VType does not tap Send.
Optional editing and model downloads
Speech models are downloaded when you choose. An additional offline text model is optional and is used for editing suggestions only when enabled and requested. Suggestions may alter meaning; review them before applying.
Downloads contact Hugging Face and its download infrastructure over HTTPS. Those providers receive the request information necessary to deliver files, including your IP address. Your dictation audio and draft text are not included in model-download requests. See Hugging Face’s privacy policy.
Local history and deletion
Optional performance measurements and exports are handled locally. You choose whether to share an export. The app includes model-removal controls. Android’s Clear storage or uninstall removes that app installation’s private notes, settings and downloaded models; export any note you want to keep first.
No app account or cloud subscription
This beta has no VType cloud account, advertising SDK, app analytics upload or cloud subscription. Google Play handles installation and any store purchase under Google’s policies. VType does not receive your card or bank details.
This website and support
The website’s example runs in your browser. It does not access your microphone, send your sample text to us or save it in browser storage. Website visits and performance are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, as described in the company website privacy notice. Website measurement is separate from the VType app; it does not receive your sample text or dictation.
Cloudflare hosts the website and processes technical request information, including IP addresses, to deliver and protect it. Hosting and security logs may be processed under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
If you email us, we receive the information you include and use it to answer your request and manage beta access or support. Avoid sending private dictation, passwords or payment details. Ask us by email if you want your support correspondence or beta-contact information removed, subject to records we must retain.
Changes
This notice describes the current offline beta and website. We will update it before introducing features that change how data is handled.
